Ambassadorial Orientation Program

The Council of American Ambassadors' Ambassadorial Orientation Program enables newly-appointed non-career ambassadors and their spouses to meet, hear from and share experiences with former American Ambassadors.

Orientation sessions are scheduled to coincide with the State Department's Ambassadorial Seminar and are conducted by Council members.

Through the orientation program, the Council makes available its greatest resource---the knowledge and experience of its members---to ambassadors-designate and their spouses to promote diplomatic readiness and ensure that newly-appointed ambassadors are fully prepared to succeed in their positions as Chiefs of Mission and diplomatic representatives of the President of the United States.
