On July 8, the Council of American Ambassadors is co-sponsoring a reception honoring the U.S. Marine Corps Embassy Security Guards. The guests of honor are the graduates of the most recent USMC Embassy Guard Detachment Commanders class and their spouses.

Monica Damberg-Ott, a Cultural and Educational Programs Coordinator in the Office of Public Diplomacy for the State Department’s Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Angie Smith, a regional policy officer for the Near Eastern Affairs region in the Bureau of International Information Programs, and Shanna Surendra, Desk Officer for Portugal and Malta, were selected as the 2015-2016 Davis Public Diplomacy Fellows.
