Funding and Donors

The Council of American Ambassadors is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that is supported by member dues contributions and donations. It also seeks financial and in-kind assistance from corporate and private foundation sources.

The Council has established an Endowment Fund whose income is used to enhance existing activities and to support new projects. An Endowment Fund Committee, appointed by the Board of Directors, administers the Fund.

Donors interested in making bequests to the Council in their wills or charitable remainder trusts may request a sample codicil document for review.

Contributions to the Council are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. A copy of the Council's Internal Revenue Service letter certifying the Council as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization is available upon request. Visit the Contact page on this site for phone, fax and email information.

To satisfy the disclosure requirements of the Internal Revenue Service, copies of the Council's three most recently filed annual information returns (IRS Form 990) are provided upon request. Copies of the annual information returns are also available for inspection during regular business hours. Requests should be made in writing via email, fax or mail.
