Event: Ambassadors Roundtables

Ambassadors Roundtable with the Ambassador of Brazil

The Council of American Ambassadors held its second Ambassadors Roundtable of 2013 on Wednesday, March 13 in the Anderson Room of the Metropolitan Club of Washington, DC. The Brazilian Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Mauro Vieira, was the guest speaker. In light of the close bilateral relationship between our two nations, and the Council’s upcoming mission to Brazil in October 2013, it was particularly timely to have with us Brazil’s chief diplomat in the United States.

Following Ambassador Vieira’s formal remarks, Ambassador Gilbert A. Robinson, co-chair of the Ambassadors Roundtable program, led a robust question and answer session. Questions from Ambassadors G. Philip Hughes, Diane E. Watson, Donald B. Ensenat, James P. Cain, Victor H. Ashe, Donald T. Bliss, Lloyd N. Hand and Timothy A. Chorba covered a range of topics, including Brazil’s energy sector, its economic transformation and its regional relations.
