    CAA Senior Vice President Ambassador G. Philip Hughes received the 'Puentes de America' award from the Centro de Estudios Americanos (Center for American Studies) of Argentina at their September 18 annual dinner in Buenos Aires. Ambassador Hughes was recognized for his roughly 15 years of help to the Centro with its publications and delegation visits to Washington. In contrast to the United States' 120+ university or academic centers focused on the study of Latin America, the Centro de Estudios Americanos is unique in Latin America in that it offers concentrated focus on the study of the United States.

    Ambassador Robert Orr has been awarded The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Mr. Taro Kono. Congratulations Ambassador Orr!
