Ambassador Chin has been named a 2018-2019 Donaldson Fellow by the Yale School of Management for embodying the school's mission to educate leaders for business and society in their personal and professional accomplishments.


G. Philip Hughes

Barbados and Eastern Caribbean (1990 - 1993)
CAA Senior Vice President Ambassador G. Philip Hughes received the 'Puentes de America' award from the Centro de Estudios Americanos (Center for American Studies) of Argentina at their September 18 annual dinner in Buenos Aires. Ambassador Hughes was recognized for his roughly 15 years of help to the Centro with its publications and delegation visits to Washington. In contrast to the United States' 120+ university or academic centers focused on the study of Latin America, the Centro de Estudios Americanos is unique in Latin America in that it offers concentrated focus on the study of the United States.


Jim Nicholson

Holy See (2001 - 2005)
In recognition of Secretary Jim Nicholson's sustained support of United States veterans and military families, he was honored with the 2018 President's Award for Lifetime Achievement by Hiring Our Heroes, a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.


Tom C. Korologos

For his extraordinary public service and bringing exceptional recognition to the state of Utah, Ambassador Tom Korologos has been awarded the Leavitt Center's Distinguished Public Service Award.


Richard N. Holwill

Ecuador (1988 - 1989)
Ambassador Holwill spoke at the Jackson Hole Center for Global Affairs Conference on National Security and Climate Change. He focused on climate issues driving migration from Central America and Sub-Saharan Africa noting that rising temperatures are responsible for the loss of coffee crops in Central America, which is compounding the economic dislocation caused by a multi-year drought. Also on this panel were Arlen Jameson Lt. Gen. USAF Retired, John Castellaw Lt. Gen. USMC Retired and Irv Halter Maj, Gen. USAF Retired.

Ambassador Wos and her husband Louis DeJoy have endowed the Elon University Odyssey Program with full scholarships for four students per year. The endowment will grow in the coming years to provide 12 full scholarships per year.

Ambassador Gaddi Vasquez was awarded The Latino Coalition Leadership Award (Private Sector) at the Hispanic Heritage Month Power Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony in Washington, DC. The Latino Coalition Awards recognize national and international pioneers who have created businesses that help shape the economy.

Ambassador Ronald Weiser and his wife, Eileen, have donated $10 million to the University of Michigan for the creation of the Weiser Diplomacy Center, a new center focused on training international diplomats.


Jim Nicholson

Holy See (2001 - 2005)
Former Secretary of Veterans Affairs Jim Nicholson has been appointed by President Trump to the Board of Visitors of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The mission of the Board is "to inquire into the morale, discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic methods, and other matters relating to the academy that the board decides to consider." Gaddi H. Vasquez

United Nations (UN) (2006 - 2009)
Ambassador Gaddi H. Vasquez was elected Board Chairman of Project Concern International (PCI). Ambassador Vasquez will spearhead the strategic direction of PCI's efforts to expand its work to prevent disease and promote sustainable development in 16 countries around the globe.


Fay Hartog-Levin

Netherlands (2009 - 2011)
On Friday, May 17, Arts Alliance Illinois presented its Citizen Advocate Award to Ambassador Fay Hartog Levin. The award recognizes individuals whose vision and civic leadership provide a heightened visibility to the value of the arts. A benefit luncheon, titled "Voices of a Creative State," was held in coordination with the award presentation. Ambassador Fay Hartog Levin served as the United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands from 2009-2011 and currently serves as The Chicago Council on Global Affairs' Senior Adviser on European Affairs. She has been an active member of Chicago's civic community as a member of the Illinois Arts Alliance Board from 1997–2009 and as its Chairman from 2006–2008.


Donald S. Beyer Jr.

Switzerland (2009 - 2013)
Ambassador Donald S. Beyer, Jr. was presented with the Thomas Jefferson Award at a State Department ceremony on March 26, 2013. The award is presented by American Citizens Abroad (ACA) to a U.S. State Department officer who has rendered outstanding service to Americans overseas. ACA is a citizen's advocacy group representing six million overseas Americans. Ambassador Beyer was recognized for his leadership and participation in a series of Town Hall Meetings where American citizens living outside of the United States could voice their concerns and opinions. A report was produced as a result of the input from these meetings and was distributed to members of Congress and the media in late 2012. Ambassador Beyer is the current U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
