As part of its 30th Anniversary Celebration, the Council of American Ambassadors convened its Spring Conference the morning of Tuesday, May 7 in the George C. Marshall Center Auditorium at the Department of State.

The evening of Tuesday, May 7, the Council held its 30th Anniversary Gala at the Organization of American States. Ambassador William J. vanden Heuvel made brief remarks (PDF available for download in the right navigation). Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering offered the keynote address. Nearly 200 members, ambassadors of the foreign diplomatic corps, administration officials and friends of the organization were in attendance.
