Ambassadors Roundtable with the Ambassador of Sweden

Ambassador Karin Olofsdotter of Sweden will open the Council’s 2019-2020 Ambassadors Roundtable season on Thursday, October 10 in Washington, DC.

Much in the news of late for generating spirited debate as to whether it is a socialist role model and for the "A$AP Rocky" prosecution, Sweden enjoys a strong and significant bilateral relationship with the United States. In the forefront of technological innovation in telecommunications, computer science, pharmaceuticals and aviation, Sweden is a significant investor in the U.S. as well as home to very substantial American multinational investment. Although a neutral country, Sweden has long been a major contributor of military personnel for U.N. peace-keeping missions. The warming of Arctic waters makes Sweden a pivotal player in all that climate change will portend for nautical transit and energy development north of the Arctic Circle.
